Service Opportunities

Vision House offers meaningful volunteer opportunities to the community with the goal of increasing our capacity to serve the poor and homeless and help promote positive transformation of their lives.

We provide these meaningful volunteer opportunities through the promotion of our core values of: Christ-centered integrity, helping and service, achievement, respect, and teamwork. The Vision House volunteer program also promotes relationships in the community that generate additional support and public awareness of Vision House.

Below is a list of ongoing volunteer opportunities that we have throughout the year.  For an updated list of our current, most pressing needs please check out the volunteer blog.

Technical Support - Help with computer upgrades, wireless problem solving, periodic training.

Childcare – Help with child care during monthly resident house meetings, tutoring, bible studies, or after school care. Our resident children range from newborn to high school.

Donation Sorting and Organizing – Help sort and organize donations for residents, our Thrift Store and our annual Bargain Bash garage sale.

Maintenance - Help with maintenance of the homes including carpentry, plumbing, moving appliances and furniture, and other general repairs. We also need skilled laborers for Vision House building projects.

Yard Work – Landscaping and yard maintenance at the Vision House facilities.

Office Assistance - Periodic help is needed on special projects such as fundraising events and mailing assistance. Weekly assistance is welcome in the office.

Phone Calls – Periodic help is needed making phone calls for Vision House.

General Help - There are so many opportunities to serve Vision House and our families. Please don’t hesitate to ask or suggest an idea.

Events – Volunteers are needed to help secure auction items, set up, decorate and/or help clean up from an event.

Christmas Trees – November/December
Help deliver and pick up our giving trees throughout the community. Or put a giving tree up at your church or workplace to collect donations for Vision House families.

Food Donation – Donate snacks for weekly children’s programs.
