Below is a list of current volunteer opportunities that are also our areas of greatest need. Additional volunteer activities are listed on our Service Opportunities page, our Construction page and our Fundraising page.

Field Trips: Chaperones are needed to help with field trips through the summer. These field trips usually take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from abotu 10:00 - 3:00.
Men's Program Support: Volunteers are needed to help with the men's homes both with one time cleanup projects as well as ongoing support with community meetings. Community meetings take place on Monday and Thursday evenings - volunteers can sign up to help weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, etc.
Tutoring Help at Children's Village: Specifically, help is needed with tutoring the school age children in our child care center. We are looking for a volunteer or two that could come in one time a week and read with the children, practice site words, etc. Volunteers could help any day on Monday through Thursay from 3:30 - 5:00pm.
Provide Child Care: Once a month the teachers in our childcare center get together for team building and training. However many of our teachers have their children enrolled in the childcare center while they teach. During these monthly meetings 1-2 teachers miss out on training as they watch their own as well as the children of the other teachers. Our hope is to find a volunteer that might be able to help with this need. Help is needed on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 5:30 - 6:30pm.
Jacob's Well Construction: Volunteers are needed Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9:00 - 12:00 to help with construction activities and site clean-up at our Jacob's Well complex being built in Shoreline. Both skilled and unskilled volunteers needed to help with finish carpentry.
Hospitality: Provide lunch, refreshments and/or snacks to construction volunteers supporting the Vision House Jacob's Well project in Shoreline.
Adopt-a-Room: Sponsors are needed to furnish new homes at the Vision House Jacob's Well complex. By "adopting" one or more rooms, individuals and groups can furnish spaces with a homey touch and purchase items such as bedding, kitchen gadgets, furniture and other basic essentials for their home. Donation Sorting: Volunteer are needed to sort donations for residents, orgnaizational needs, our Thrift Store, sidewalk sales, etc.
Estate Sale Pick-Up: Assist with occasional pick-up of merchandise for residents and the Thrift Store from estate sales around King county. These typically take place on Fridays and Saturdays.

Resident Store: Volunteers are needed to staff the store alongside a VH staff member during store hours while families shop for free for items that they need.
Thrift Store: Assist with donation sorting, cleaning and merchandise displays at our thrift store in Bothell.
Lawn Care: Volunteers are needed to help mow the lawns at our family facility in Renton on a weekly to bi-monthly basis through the spring and summer months. This can be done at your conveince and typically takes about 2-3 hours.
Yard Work: Groups of volunteers are needed to help with weeding, lawn mowing, and general yard work at our facility in Renton. This helps us create a welcoming and nurturing environment for families to call home.
Videographer and Editor (amateur is fine): Produce 1-3 minute video clips for our PR/marketing efforts.
